Admin

w3c TPAC

(FYI) not meeting at TPAC (not enough interest)

harsh: paid event? lack of interest to attend

beatriz: in the past they have given free or cheaper tickets to academic but also expensive to travel to ireland

repo

w3c-cg/dpv -- new repo and redirects (HTML, w3id, browser extension) w3c-cg/dpv#466

ACTION: beatriz to update w3id for new github urls as part of 2.4 update

DPV 2.4

finalisation of release https://github.com/w3c/dpv/milestone/10 (minor changes and fixes only probably)

working on draft for next week, release July end

DPV-ODRL mapping

beatriz: will 2.4 include the mapping?

harsh: yes, its on the dev branch so will be merged into main and will be in 2.4

beatriz: how do we automate the mapping generation for future versions? For left operands, nothing needs to be done. For right operands e.g. Asset, we need to produce a triple e.g. this DPV concept is also a ODRL Asset.

harsh: doable with a SPARQL query, similar to what we do with the location/jurisdiction concepts e.g. IE is in EU.

harsh: Does this have a github issue for tracking?

beatriz: no, will create

ACTION: beatriz to create issue for DPV-ODRL mapping automation

GDNG note on ongoing lawmaking

ACTION: harsh to create issue and liase with Julian to finalise note on GDNG

ACTION: harsh to create issue for adding notes to GDPR, DGA, AI Act regarding changes being made via Omnibus

ePrivacy Directive

Gabriela: proposing extension for ePrivacy Directive based on ongoing PhD work; question on whether to add extension now given the ongoing Omnibus

Julian: is this being change in the omnibux then to what extent?

Harsh: ePD will stay but some stuff is moving to GDPR e.g. relaxation on rules for when to ask consent but core ePD concepts will continue

Harsh: option to add this extension as in scope now and do work for 2.5 or to decide later after summer

Julian: agree this is scope so makes sense to have it

Gabriela: for now the scope is to identify actors, rights, obligations and use DPV concepts; My PhD will involve comparing these concepts across regulations e.g. starting with GDPR to see overlaps

Beatriz: Then we can have it in 2.5 and use the dev link for the work?

Julian: For GDNG, it is similar as it is a draft and we may want to reduce the draft (?). We should also state that we are working on it but this version of the law may not be useful as opposed to us not having time on it.

harsh: draft just means we are working on it and it may have big changes as we're still figuring out

julian: We should clarify which is "draft" and what is not e.g. in the figure for DPV extensions

julian: we may also abandon some extension that is draft in the future, so important to clarify this

ACTION: create github issue to add to list of extensions which are draft, which are not, including the DPV overview figure

Space for Proposals

objective: to enable members to show their proposals and ongoing discussions (as concepts may take time to be formally added to vocabularies)

discuss: 1) do we want this? 2) where do we put this?

Harsh: [rationale]

Delaram: what would happen to the url? Why not use the existing repo outside DPVCG?

Harsh: the point is to provide a way to show the work is submitted which is early stage or still being discussed and not yet being put in the main branch

proposed: AI Act Art.10 concepts from Fabian / Harsh https://dev.dpvcg.org/proposals/aiact-art10/

proposed: AI quality vocabulary concepts from Delaram/Beyza/Fabian/Harsh

Delaram: paper accepted to SEMANTiCs with 2 contributions:
https://anonymous.4open.science/w/
… dqv4ai/iso-25059/
https://anonymous.4open.science/w/dqv4ai/eu-aiact/

Delaram: we will de-anonymised and submit it to the proposals dev folder as discussed today

Beatriz: There are concepts that use DPV and DQV for a concrete use case, i.e., AI quality. Does it make sense to have a generic DPV-DQV mapping, and have you worked on it?

Delaram: No mapping, the 2 taxonomies were developed for concrete use cases, i.e., AI Act and ISO 25059

DPV 2.5

scheduled draft November, release early Jan

work program -- priorities

Beatriz: together with Gabriela and Marlin, we will continue the work on EHDS and DGA and make a concrete proposal

no other priorities raised during the call.

ACTION: Everyone to look at existing GitHub issues (or create new ones) to prioritise work items for 2.5 in the next few weeks.
